Government/Religion:   Haiti is a Republic.  Its capital is Port-au-Prince.  The religious breakdown is: Roman Catholic 80%, Protestant 16% (Baptist 10%, Pentecostal 4%, Adventist 1%, other 1%), none 1%, other 3%.  Roughly half of the population practices voodoo.

Time Difference:   1 hour behind EST (During the months of Daylight Savings’ Time, it is the same time as EST).

 

Electricity:   Voltage 110-120 Volts (Same as U.S./Canada, most other areas are 220-240 Volts).
